Absence Makes The Heart Grow Fonder

Friendships at a distance

Now that I’m settling into my new life in Nashville, the move has officially stopped feeling like a vacation. Which means “homesickness” for my friends in LA is creeping in fast. This is not the first time I’ve moved away from my closest friends. Distance is something I’m used to – whether it was leaving IL for college in NY. Leaving NY for a new life in LA. Leaving LA for a year to work in London and then leaving my awesome friends there, I should be used to it by now. But it never gets easier. I will be the first to admit that I can be terrible about keeping in touch. Several of my relationships have suffered from this, but I chalk it up to life and growing apart. The people who have always meant the most to me are still in my life, and no matter how much time passes between visits, cards, or conversations, we can always pick up right where we left off. WCW – Lola Gail

It’s Woman Crush Wednesday time!

Once upon a time I decided that I would post WCW and MCM posts about my friends. I did it once and then never wrote another one. You know, the way I’ve typically done a lot of things on this blog…

Days 106 – 109 – Oh What Fun!

That something was traveling to Vegas this past weekend to see Sam Hunt in concert for the 6th and final time of 2015. Gail and I have made some pretty incredible memories at his shows this year, starting in Chattanooga, then continuing in Nashville, Irvine, Chula Vista, and Phoenix. We’ve met some cool people and sang and danced until our hearts’ content. Music…it really is my soulmate.

Day 35 – Way Past My Bedtime

Ultimate FOMO with Ang kept me out about five hours longer than I thought I would be. What was meant to be a quick drink and goodbye after work ended up being 6 hours of laughter with great friends old and new. When you only get to spend mere hours with one of your favorite people over the course of years, you say F it and stay out late on a school night. And even though you know you’ll be paying for it at work in the morning, you’ll have no regrets.

Day 15 – WCW: Poopinana

After writing my post a few days ago about having dinner with my friend Shaki, I got it into my head that I could (should?) use the ever popular Woman Crush Wednesday and Man Crush Monday hashtags to post about people in my life that inspire me. While most of them won’t be international celebrities, they are the stars in my life that bring entertainment, fulfillment, love, and joy. What could be better than that?

My inaugural Jesus Year WCW is going out to my friend Ana! (I already know she’s cringing behind her computer.)
